Best Goathland B&B

We love to recommend great people who go the extra mile with service and care. Having just enjoyed a few days away at the fabulous ‘Eighteen 97’ B&B in Goathland, we felt compelled to write a poem for our wonderful hosts, Fiona and Tim.

We stayed in the gorgeous Vivaldi room which has an excellent view, and were delighted one morning to watch a deer walk gracefully through the garden! Here’s the poem…we hope you enjoy it:-

1897-Bed-&-Breakfast-GoathlandWhen we rounded the bend into Goathland,
With its open expanse of pure green
Sheep bleating and tea rooms inviting,
We knew we’d join in with this scene.
A gasp of surprise as we pulled up the car
At our Orchard Lane home for three days,
A new B&B in pristine condition
Easy to sit there and gaze.
The warmest of welcomes from hosts for our stay
The kettle on, time for a brew,
And then shown to our room for three memorable nights
And oh..what a breathtaking view.
Sumptuous breakfasts, immaculate care
Ensuring our stay was complete
They even made recommendations for trips
And of course the best places to eat.
We steam trained to Whitby for great fish and chips,
And we visited Robin Hood’s Bay,
Runswick beach was a treat, as we lay there in tune
Onto Beck Hole’s great pub, end of day.
So back from our trip we reflect on our stay
And we’ve savoured a slice of pure heaven,
You must go and book in with Fiona and Tim
At the wonderful ‘Eighteen 97.’
