A right royal day!

It’s the third episode of The Cruise Ship tonight, so this one’s for the passengers and crew of the Royal Princess. Have a great day and hope you enjoy the poem.EPSON MFP image

As I open my eyes on another new day

Can’t wait to see port side as we dock in the bay.

Balcony beckons, camera in hand

As I gaze at the promise of this breathtaking land.

Throw on my robe and open the door

Greeted by sunshine a’ plenty once more.

And gazing across the bough of our ship

Hundreds more robes with lenses to trip.

Passengers eager to see where we’ve stopped

All out on their balconies while top deck gets mopped.

I snap several photos; “come hubby, see here”

Then I’m joined by two arms by the one I hold dear.

We snuggle together and watch with respect

The crew at their work, staying cool, calm, collect.

With majestic precision, she’s docked in her place

Ropes tied in position with effortless grace.

And now we survey where we’ll spend time today

A beautiful backdrop to explore you might say.

Then minds turn to breakfast, so buffet is sought,

Mouth watering options await at Horizon Court.

Finding a table outdoors, we sit aft,

What an array! Oh how we’ve laughed!

Don’t know where we put it all, but nevertheless,

Those plates will spill over as the servers impress.

A little of this, and then try some of that,

Sit casually dining with sun shades and hat.

Watching this scene and smelling the scents

Of this new destination….wow…money well spent.

Time now to savour this wonderful day

Grab the camera and take the gangway.

All in a whirl we take in the sights

Stopping for coffee, souvenirs and delights.

Soon back on board, and there’s time for a swim

Unwind in jacuzzi, soothes each aching limb.

Back in the cabin, we’re ready to dine

Showered and dressed, and we’re feeling fine.

A wonderful evening, a pampering treat,

Attentive waiters are jovial and fun as we eat.

As the sun sets we stare at the apricot sky

Holding hands under candlelight, breathe in a sigh.

Then excitement ensues and it’s “anchors aweigh”

As the Royal Princess prepares next sail away.

Tonight we’ll be dreaming of what lies in store,

Where tomorrow will lead us; another new shore.

My cares and my worries all gone with the wake

And we’ll capture this moment, a treasured keepsake.
